Born in xxxx, Brandywine is a petite spitfire of a girl who strikes a beautiful pose. She is an interesting combination of Pharaoh hound and terrier, and those ears are something else! Brandywine originally came to the shelter as a pup and was adopted out to the perfect family. She came back years later because she had bonded so completely to them that she was protective to an extreme degree and, of course, not properly trained or socialized. So, basically, Brandywine was given up because she loved her owners too much. Given her history, it's clear why this pretty lady would have trust issues. She's slow to connect even with those she's come to know, and fairly unapproachable with strangers. On her walks, when Brandywine is most relaxed, you can see her potential. She's curious and wants to do well. But, because she remains unnerved by much of what's around her, fear sometimes gets the better of our damsel in distress. In the hands of a skilled dog handler, with the patience and commitment to expand her universe of trust, Brandywine could surely become the same loyal and loving companion she once was.
